Deny Yourself

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:23-27, NKJV
Stop denying God and start denying yourself. Understand that while you are caught in a mighty struggle between flesh and spirit, your Lord, your God is mighty to save and will uplift you; however, it’s not that His hand can’t reach you, nor that He can’t hear you, rather because of your denial and your ways that He has turned from you - Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:1-1-2, NKJV). The sins of a rebellious generation have taken the form of denying God’s sovereignty over their lives and replaced His authority with their own. Understand that denial is a tricky thing in that one’s heart shuts down/shuts out the very thing presented in front of it…in this case God’s love. However, you must understand that God’s love is bigger than your circumstance and situation…and while the world’s riches may be good to you, they’re not God for you. You must deny yourself and all that stems/flows from “selfish” desires and take up your cross…the very calling from God you have chosen to deny in order to experience the abundant and fulfilled life afforded to you through Christ - Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:23-27, NKJV). God is calling His people out today…calling them to turn from self and turn towards Him. Will you receive and accept His call today?
BE BLESSED!
